Reaghan Tarbell (Mohawk) comes from the Kahnawake reserve just outside Montreal. Her documentary, Little Caughnawaga: To Brooklyn and Back, has screened widely at festivals, winning Best Feature Documentary at the 2008 Winnipeg Aboriginal Film Festival. She previously worked at the Film and Video Center of the National Museum of the American Indian, Smithsonian Institution in New York where she organized the Native American Film and Video Festival and curated film programs. After graduating with her MA in Film Studies at Concordia University in 2013 she began working as the Executive Director of the Kanien’kehá:ka Onkwawén:na Raotitióhkwa Language and Cultural Center in Kahnawake. She currently serves on the board of the directors of the Kateri Memorial Foundation and the DestiNATIONS Cultural Embassy.
