iYC Machinimagraph Workshop – imagineNATIVE & ENAGB

Overview: This machinimagraph workshop took place over the course of 8 weeks, and introduced participants from the inDigital Youth Collective to concepts like character design, and machinimatography! First, instructors Kahentawaks Tiewishaw and Melissa Johns worked with participants to develop sketches of original Indigenous characters from the future. Those sketches were then used as a reference for customising Second Life avatars. Machinimagraphs were then taken of these avatars, and polished in Adobe Illustrator. The finished works were shown as part of a physical exhibition in the GTA, as well as part of a virtual exhibition in AbTeC Gallery.
