- Duration: 3 hours
- Instructors: Maize Longboat, Kahentawaks Tiewishaw
Overview: Our first ever Twine workshop! Twine is an open-source tool for telling interactive, non-linear stories that can be exported as HTML files and played within browsers. Participants were taught the basics of how to create narratives with branching pathways using Twine’s hyperlinking system, as well as how to style their stories with colours, fonts, images, and audio using CSS code. The AbTeC Discord server hosted the workshop lesson in a virtual meeting room and also acted as a platform for participants to upload their in-progress interactive stories for others to play. Twine is built with HTML and acts a lot like a regular webpage, so we find it to be an excellent starting point for learning basic web design techniques.
