Imagining Indigenous Worlds with Unity – Northern Arts and Cultural Centre

  • Location: Online
  • Date: April 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th, 29th, 2022
  • Duration: 5 sessions of 5 hours each
  • Instructors: Kahentawaks Tiewishaw, Anastasia Erickson, Caeleigh Lightning

Overview:

In our last of three workshops with Northern Arts and Cultural Centre, the cohort explored the software Unity and how it can be harnessed to host entire worlds of Indigenous design.  Being only our fourth iteration of this workshop, it was a great learning experience both for participants and instructors as we convened each day over Discord to learn tools and tips for the software.  Participants got the opportunity to construct their own unique world from scratch, learning how to tell stories through environmental assets and atmospheric elements, and were able to conceive of games to take place in their new worlds!
