  • Location: Online
  • Date: September 3rd, 2020
  • Duration: 3 hours
  • Instructors: Maize Longboat, Kahentawaks Tiewishaw

Overview: The first workshop in the iNDigital Youth Collective Workshop Series, this session kicked off a brand new initiative by IIF partner imagineNATIVE in collaboration with ENAGB-IYA. A collective of seven Toronto-based Indigenous youth digital media makers aged 14-22 joined Skins Workshops Associate Director Maize Longboat and AbTeC RA Kahentawaks Tiewishaw for an online 7th Gen Character Design workshop via the AbTeC Discord server. The group was prompted to imagine a descendant of theres who lives seven generations in the future and draw them as a character using paper and pencil. At the end of the workshop participants discussed their characters and the future worlds they live in with the larger group, showing off their drawings by uploading them to the work-in-progress AbTeC Discord channel.
